I will be at San Diego Mesa College to discuss changes I've made in my life since going to Hong Kong in 1996, a city I had not seen since age five. I will discuss how that trip launched my memoir. I will also go over writing mistakes vs effective prose in the creative nonfiction class using excerpts from Several Short Sentences About Writing by Verlyn Klinkenborg.
